Chris Christensen the host of the Amateur Traveler. The Amateur Traveler is an online travel show that focuses primarily on travel destinations and what are the best places to travel to. It includes both a weekly audio podcast and a twice monthly video podcast. In his copious free time he also the Executive Vice President of Engineering and Operations for a company in Silicon Valley (LiveWorld) that runs online communities for companies like Marriott, American Express, eBay, HBO, the NBA, Kraft, Campbells, Kimberly Clark, A&E, and QVC.

Gary Arndt is the man behind one of the world's most popular, independent travel blogs. He has been traveling non-stop since March, 2007 and has visited over 60 countries and territories. That is a real monkey on his shoulder.

On the discussion of unbundling hotel rooms, we agree with Chris, it's the hospitality industry folks!

Glad to hear another show and that the iTunes feed's been approved. More power to travel podcasting!

Re: Passports: in Italy, it costs about 60 euro to apply for a passport (valid 10 years) and then the traveler must purchase a "travel stamp" valid for the calendar year (obviously for travel outside of the US) which costs around 45 euro...each year! I'm sure you're all not surprised, though...it is Italy!
