Ummm... I'm enjoying your podcast, and wondering how this fellow Andrew Evans feels like his "real time narrative" is really any different from any of 1000's of travel blogs, tweets, images happening realtime all the time all over the world? I've personally been doing it for nearly a decade. Every trip, whatever new tech was available.. I was using it to keep those traveling vicariously from home.... right there with me. I know Gary's blog and tweets are similar.
I looked through the Evans content and I really don't see how it's any "new" or "different" or "experimental real time narration", etc. What am I missing? Or, is it just new and different for National Geo Traveler?
Don't get me wrong, it's cool and all that he got someone to pay him to do it. But, I don't see how it's really anything "new" at all.

Jen ... Most fascinating! Just yesterday, I learned the Air Force supported a group flying to Antarctica. Already fascinated in your post, now I'm even more interested. Outstanding! Dennis

Wanted to mention the Jane Hotel in New York. Great location near the south end of High Line Park, reasonable walk to metro, right by the Hudson. If you're a single and willing to share a bathroom, it's a good deal. Although the AC might be too noisy in the summer - I stayed in September. The photos on the web site are accurate - http://www.thejanenyc.com/ - the bathrooms are clean and I never had to wait to shower. Also, just got an email saying Yotel is opening in NYC.
Couldn't agree more about treating tripadvisor with caution. Especially for some places - worked well for me in Italy, but was a disaster in Marrakech. Ignore anybody with only one post, for starters.
