AI corporations complained, got most of what they wanted, but they’re still shrieking about bill SB 1047 just as loudly as before.
- “Off switch requirement kills open source!” ➡️ has an open source exemption.
- “You can’t guarantee no critical harms!” ➡️ it’s now reasonable care, not assurance.
- “Everyone will be training 10^26 models soon!” ➡️ now only if they spend $100M threshold.
- “FMD is a new regulator with bad incentives!” ➡️ it’s totally gone.
- “The cloud control uniform pricing provision was bad!” ➡️ it’s gone.
- “People could go to jail for intentionally lying on a form!” ➡️ it’s gone.
